Welcome

The Lexington Vintage Dance Society invites you to explore the ballroom and social dance forms of the 19th and early 20th centuries.

Try-Outs!
Are you interested in dancing to great band and orchestral music? Do you want to re-create the grace and elegance of by-gone days? Are you looking for affordable ways to improve your dance skills? Consider joining the Swan Salon Dancers.

LVDS will conduct try-outs for membership in the performing troupe from 10:00 to 1:00 on June 27. You will be asked to do some movement exercises, and you may optionally show us a dance you can do. Currently we have openings for men or pairs.  Call (859) 420-6780 for an appointment, or drop in at 11:00.

Within our site you can:

Observe our dances through our performances or contact us to have us perform at your next event. We've performed for audiences at reenactments, museums, concerts, historic homes, festivals, theaters, schools, private parties, retirement communities, wedding receptions, and conferences.

Learn more about how do do these dance styles yourself through one of our many classes. We offer classes in such areas as Vintage Dance, Argentine Tango and Scottish Country Dance.

Join us at any of the dance activities that are open to the public. We host a Mostly Waltz Vintage Sampler dance the first Friday of each month, and there are many Balls and Workshops in our area.

The Lexington Vintage Dance Society, with headquarters in Lexington, KY, is dedicated to researching, teaching, performing, and promoting the ballroom and social dance forms of the 19th and early 20th centuries.
